Connect Zoho ZeptoMail to MailNesto
Zoho’s transactional sending service — route receipts and other one-to-one mail through it.
Zoho ZeptoMail and MailNesto, together
Zoho ZeptoMail is a sending service with an India region, which makes it a natural fit for businesses already on Zoho. Add it to MailNesto as a delivery server with a Send Mail token, and choose India (smtp.zeptomail.in) or Global (smtp.zeptomail.com).
ZeptoMail is built for transactional email, so check its terms before sending marketing campaigns through it. A practical set-up is to limit the ZeptoMail server to the From domain your app uses for receipts and OTPs, and send campaigns through another server.
What moves between Zoho ZeptoMail and MailNesto
Sent over SMTP on port 587 with the username emailapikey and your Send Mail token as the password, at 10 emails a second by default.
Through the “Other providers” webhook, which accepts a simple JSON body: {"type":"bounce","email":"…","bounceType":"hard"} or {"type":"complaint","email":"…"}.
Connect Zoho ZeptoMail in a few minutes
- 1
Create a Send Mail token
In ZeptoMail open your Mail Agent’s SMTP settings and generate a Send Mail token. Verify your sending domain there.
- 2
Add the server
In MailNesto open Sending → Servers & routing → Add server → Zoho ZeptoMail. Pick India or Global, keep the username emailapikey, paste the token and save.
- 3
Limit it to your transactional domain
Under “Only for these From domains” choose the domain your transactional emails use, such as notify.yourbrand.com. Mail from other domains then goes through your other servers.
- 4
Bring bounces back
ZeptoMail’s own webhook format isn’t read directly. Use a small step in n8n, Make or your own code to turn its bounce events into the simple JSON the “Other providers” URL on the Sending page accepts.
- 5
SPF
Tick Zoho ZeptoMail in the SPF builder to add include:zeptomail.net to your domain’s single SPF record.
What you can do with it
A furniture brand in Jodhpur running Zoho for its back office can send order confirmations through the transactional API, delivered by ZeptoMail, with templates kept in MailNesto.
Send event tickets as transactional email with a PDF attached, scheduled for the right moment and protected from duplicates with an idempotency key.
Search the transactional message log by tag or status to answer “did the customer get their OTP?” in seconds.
Questions about the Zoho ZeptoMail integration
Should I send newsletters through ZeptoMail?
ZeptoMail is intended for transactional email. Read its terms first; most businesses send marketing through a different provider and keep ZeptoMail for receipts, OTPs and alerts.
Why aren’t ZeptoMail bounces showing up?
ZeptoMail’s events need reshaping into the simple JSON format the “Other providers” webhook accepts. Until that is set up, bounces aren’t reported back.
Which region should I choose?
Pick the region where your ZeptoMail account lives: India uses smtp.zeptomail.in, Global uses smtp.zeptomail.com.
Can transactional email go through ZeptoMail while campaigns use another server?
Yes, by limiting ZeptoMail to the From domain your transactional email uses, or by picking servers in each campaign’s delivery settings.
