Getting started
Is there a free plan or trial?
Yes. Start on the free plan with no card needed, and try paid plans free where a trial is offered. Upgrade whenever you need more.
Can I import my existing contacts?
Yes. Upload a CSV or Excel file with email addresses, names and any other fields. Duplicates are merged and invalid addresses are flagged during import.
Can I use MailNesto outside India?
Yes. You can send to anyone, anywhere, and customers outside India pay in US dollars, without GST.
Email marketing
Can I send each campaign to different lists?
Yes. Choose one or more lists or segments for every campaign, and exclude any you don’t want to reach.
Is there a limit on contacts or lists?
Create as many lists as you like. Each plan includes a number of contacts and emails per month — see Pricing for the details.
Can I use a different sender address for each campaign?
Yes. Set the from name, from address and reply-to address per campaign. Authenticate your domain for the best delivery.
What reports do I get?
Opens, clicks, bounces (hard and soft), unsubscribes, spam complaints and revenue — per campaign and per contact, in real time.
Delivery & list health
How are bounces handled?
Bounced addresses are detected automatically. Hard bounces are suppressed so future campaigns don’t go to them, protecting your sender reputation.
Will my account be paused for a high bounce rate?
We monitor bounce and complaint rates to protect delivery for everyone. Keep your list healthy: use up-to-date addresses, remove bounces and unsubscribes, and re-engage or remove inactive subscribers. We’ll warn you before anything is paused.
Do you offer dedicated IPs?
High-volume senders can request a dedicated IP with a guided warm-up. Contact us to discuss your sending.
Payments & billing
How can I pay?
Pay by UPI, cards, net banking or wallets through Razorpay, by international card, or by bank transfer. Every payment comes with a GST invoice.
How soon is my plan activated?
Online payments activate your plan instantly. Bank transfers are activated as soon as we confirm the payment.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Turn off auto-renew from Plan & billing and your plan simply ends at the end of the period you’ve paid for.
Security & privacy
Is my data safe?
Your data is stored on secure, industry-standard infrastructure. We never sell or share your contact lists, and you can export or delete them at any time.
How do I stop receiving emails sent through MailNesto?
Use the unsubscribe link in any email you received. To block your address from every sender on our platform, use “Stop emails to my address” at the bottom of this page.
Setting up your account
What should I do first after signing up?
Add your sender name, reply-to address and postal address, then verify your sending domain under Deliverability. After that, import your contacts, add a sign-up form to your website and send yourself a test email. The setup checklist in the app tracks each step and roughly how long it takes.
Can I send from a Gmail or Yahoo address?
It is better not to. Free mailbox addresses fail DMARC when any platform sends on their behalf, so those emails tend to land in spam, and the platform may refuse them. Use an address at a domain you own, such as hello@yourbakery.in, and verify that domain.
Why is my new account limited in how much it can send each day?
New senders start on a warm-up ramp with daily caps that rise over a few weeks. Mailbox providers distrust a new domain that suddenly sends thousands of emails, so building volume gradually protects your reputation. Send to your most engaged contacts first.
Is my account reviewed before I can send?
Some new accounts are checked by the platform team before their first send. If yours is, the app shows a notice, and you can keep building lists, templates and automations in the meantime. Sending starts as soon as the account is approved.
Can my colleagues use the same account?
Yes. Invite them from Team and choose a role: owner, admin, marketer, analyst or developer, or a custom role with view or edit access to each area. Analysts can read reports but cannot send anything.
How do I check an email before it goes out?
Preview it at desktop, tablet and phone widths, send a test to yourself, and run the pre-send spam check. The AI assistant can also review the draft for clarity, tone, spam risk, alt text and confusing details such as a wrong date.
Billing & GST
How do I get a GST invoice with my GSTIN?
Add your legal name, address, state and 15-character GSTIN under Plan & billing before you pay. The GSTIN is checked for the correct format, and every invoice shows it with the place of supply. Invoices can be downloaded as PDFs at any time.
Will I be charged CGST and SGST or IGST?
It depends on your state. If you are in the same state as the seller, the invoice splits GST into CGST and SGST; otherwise it shows IGST. Customers without a GSTIN get an invoice marked as unregistered.
What happens if I upgrade in the middle of a billing period?
You are credited for the unused part of your current plan, and the app shows the final amount, with any promo code and GST, before you pay. The new plan starts as soon as the payment goes through.
What happens if I downgrade?
You keep your current plan until the end of the period you have paid for, then move to the smaller plan, and renewal invoices follow the new plan. You can cancel a booked downgrade before it takes effect.
What if I reach my plan’s contact or email limit?
The app tells you which limit you have reached and offers the next plan up. Where credit packs are offered, you can buy extra sending or email-verification credits instead of changing plans. Credits come with a GST invoice and are valid for a set period.
Where do I enter a promo code?
Enter it at checkout when you upgrade or buy a credit pack. The discount appears in the price summary before you pay, and the GST invoice shows the reduced amount.
Can renewals be charged automatically?
Yes, where your payment method supports it. Save a payment method in Plan & billing, choose a default and turn on automatic charging, and renewals are paid without you having to log in. See the pricing page for plans and billing cycles.
Deliverability
What do Gmail and Yahoo require from bulk senders, and is it handled?
They expect SPF, DKIM and DMARC on your sending domain, a one-click unsubscribe in marketing emails and a low spam complaint rate. MailNesto guides you through the DNS records, adds the one-click unsubscribe header automatically and suppresses people who complain.
What is a branded tracking domain and do I need one?
It makes the links in your emails use your own address, such as links.yourbrand.com, instead of a shared one, with an HTTPS certificate set up automatically. It isn’t required, but links on your own domain look more trustworthy to readers and filters.
Can I check whether my domain is on a blocklist?
Yes. The Deliverability section checks your domain, and the address of any sending server you connect, against public DNS blocklists and shows which lists, if any, include them.
Why don’t my open rates match another tool’s?
Opens are counted from images loading, which privacy features and security scanners can trigger without a person reading. MailNesto leaves out opens and clicks from known scanners and link checkers, so numbers may be lower but closer to real behaviour. Clicks and orders are the steadier measures.
Should I clean an old list before my first campaign?
Yes, if it hasn’t been emailed for six months or more. Run it through email verification to remove invalid and risky addresses, and send first to people who have engaged recently. A burst of bounces on a first send is hard to recover from.
How does an inbox placement test work?
It sends your email to a set of test mailboxes and reports where it landed — inbox, a Gmail tab, or junk — along with whether SPF, DKIM and DMARC passed. Run one before a large send or after changing your domain set-up.
Data & privacy
Does MailNesto help with India’s DPDP Act?
It gives you the tools the Act’s duties call for: a consent log, data requests with 30-day due dates, erasure that keeps people suppressed, a preference centre and retention rules. Whether your own use complies depends on how you collect and use data, so take legal advice for your situation.
What is recorded as proof of consent?
Each time someone subscribes, unsubscribes, changes their details or is erased, the consent log records the change, the date, its source (a form, an import, a team member) and the proof available. You can search it by email and filter by type of change.
Someone asked us to delete their data. What should I do?
Log it as a deletion request under Privacy, verify it is really them, then use Erase. Their details and activity are removed but the address stays on your suppression list, so a future import can’t add them back. The request records when it was closed.
Can subscribers download their own data?
Yes, if you allow it. The preference centre lets them download a copy of their data straight away, and ask for deletion, which opens a verified request with a 30-day deadline for your team. You can also export everything held about one contact yourself.
Can old, inactive contacts be removed automatically?
Set a retention rule under Privacy: for example, delete contacts with no opens, clicks, visits or orders in 24 months, and remove activity older than 36 months. The preview shows how many records would go before you save, and the rule then runs daily.
Who in our team can see privacy requests?
Of the built-in roles, only owners and admins can see the privacy section and data requests. A custom role can be given view access to workspace settings, which includes privacy, but never edit access, so handling requests stays with the people responsible for them.
Integrations
Which online stores can I connect?
Shopify and WooCommerce bring in customers and orders, and Shopify also sends abandoned carts. Any other shop can send orders and carts through the Orders API, so revenue is credited to campaigns and cart reminders work the same way.
Can leads from forms I already use come in automatically?
Yes. Connect Typeform, Facebook Lead Ads or Google Sheets, install the WordPress plugin, or post contacts from any system to a private incoming-webhook address. Zapier, Make, Pabbly Connect and n8n cover most other apps.
Does it sync with HubSpot or Zoho CRM?
Yes. Contacts and their lead scores are sent to HubSpot or Zoho CRM every few minutes, and workflows in those CRMs can send contacts back to MailNesto, for example to start a nurture series.
Can I see campaign results in Slack?
Connect a Slack channel and MailNesto posts campaign results and alerts there, including new orders that came from a campaign, so the team sees what is working without opening the app.
Can I use my segments for ads?
Yes. The subscribed contacts of a list or segment can be synced to Meta custom audiences and Google Ads customer match, so you can show ads to, or exclude, groups such as recent buyers. Only hashed email addresses are sent.
I take payments through Razorpay. Can those buyers become contacts?
Yes. Connect Razorpay and payments made through your checkout, payment links or payment pages are recorded as orders, the payers are added as contacts, and revenue is credited to the email that brought them in.
Do Calendly and Cal.com bookings appear in the CRM?
Yes. A booking creates or updates the contact and adds a meeting task, so a follow-up call from a demo booked by a clinic in Indore lands on the right person’s task list.
Switching from another tool
What is the right order of steps when switching?
Export your contacts, including unsubscribes and bounces, from the old tool. Verify your domain in MailNesto, import contacts, add the unsubscribes to your suppression list, rebuild your key templates and automations, then send to your most engaged people first while the new set-up warms up.
Will my unsubscribed and bounced contacts carry over?
They should, and it matters legally. Paste the addresses from your old tool’s unsubscribe and bounce exports into Suppressions; you can also block whole domains. Suppressed addresses are skipped by every campaign, automation and transactional email.
Can I bring my existing email designs?
Yes. Import a .html file, or a .zip with its images, and it becomes an editable template with the images uploaded to your media library. Templates you rebuild in the drag-and-drop builder will be easier to edit later.
My old tool used different merge tags. What changes?
Merge tags here use double curly brackets with an optional fallback, such as {{first_name|there}}. The migration guides on this site map each tool’s tags and field names to the MailNesto ones, so you know what to replace.
Will my automations move across?
Not automatically, because each tool builds journeys differently. Most can be rebuilt quickly from ready-made recipes such as Welcome series, Abandoned cart recovery, Birthday treat and Win back inactive, then adjusted to match what you had.
Should I keep the old tool running for a while?
For a few weeks it is sensible. Keep the old account while your new domain set-up warms up and you check that forms, store connections and automations are sending people the right emails, then close it once everything has moved.
