AI assistant

An expert marketer, built into every screen

Subject lines, rewrites, segments and campaign plans — plus a pre-send review that catches mistakes before your customers do.

Overview

What ai assistant in MailNesto does

The AI assistant in MailNesto helps with the parts of email marketing that take time but little judgement: five versions of a subject line, a tighter second paragraph, a segment you can describe but would rather not assemble rule by rule, a quick read of last month’s numbers. It sits inside the screens where that work happens, plus a Copilot chat you can open from anywhere.

It works from your account, not from guesses. Copilot sees a summary of your contacts, lists, automations, revenue and recent campaign results; the segment builder knows your lists, custom fields and tags. It is told never to invent numbers about your account and to keep subject lines honest — no fake “Re:”, no false urgency.

Nothing it writes is sent or saved on its own. Every suggestion is a draft you accept, edit or ignore, and each answer has a thumbs up or down so a poor one can be reported.

Subject lines

Five subject lines, each with preview text

In the campaign editor, ask for subject line ideas and the AI reads the email you have written, then returns five options under 55 characters, each with matching preview text and a one-line reason — a benefit, a question, a personal line with {{first_name|there}}, or urgency if the offer really ends.

Choose a tone — friendly, professional, playful, urgent or premium — and add anything to stress, such as “early-bird ends Friday”. Pick an option and it fills the subject and preview fields; you can still change every word, or test the best two against each other.

  • Based on the email’s content, not just its name
  • At most one emoji, and only in some options
  • Works for designed and plain-text emails
Writing help

Rewrite, shorten or fix any block

Text and HTML blocks in the builder have an AI menu: improve writing, make shorter, make longer, friendlier tone, more professional, and fix spelling and grammar. Rewrites keep your facts, links and merge tags; “make longer” is told not to invent prices or dates; “fix” changes nothing but spelling, grammar and punctuation.

For plain-text emails, Draft with AI turns a brief into a first version. “Navratri dandiya nights at HITEX, 3–5 Oct, early-bird passes ₹399 until Friday” becomes a greeting, two to four short paragraphs and one clear call to action, ready for you to edit.

  • Merge tags such as {{first_name}} stay intact
  • Don’t like the result? Undo with ⌘Z to get your original back
  • Writes in English
Pre-send review

A second reader before you press send

The AI review reads a campaign’s subject, preview text, sender, links and body, then gives a score out of 100, a one-sentence summary, what works, and up to six issues ranked high, medium or low. Each issue names its area — subject, content, call to action, spam risk, accessibility or personalisation — and a concrete fix.

It catches what a tired team misses late at night: a sale date that contradicts itself, “click here” links, a missing call to action, copy that reads as pushy. It sits beside the rule-based spam check rather than replacing it.

  • Suggestions only — nothing changes until you edit
  • Checks the links in the email as well as the words
  • Run it again after changes to compare the score
Segments

Describe who you want, get rules and a count

On the Segments page, type “subscribers in Pune who clicked in the last 30 days but haven’t ordered” and the AI turns it into segment rules using your real lists, custom fields, tags and recent campaigns. Before you see the result, MailNesto checks the rules are valid and counts the contacts who match.

You get a suggested name, the rules in the normal editor and a plain-language explanation, so you can check the logic before saving. If the description can’t become rules the app can use, it says so rather than returning something that quietly matches the wrong people.

  • Knows your tags and custom fields by name
  • Handles “any of” groups and exclusions
  • Live count before you save
Copilot

A chat that knows your account

Open Copilot with ⌘J (Ctrl+J on Windows) or the Ask AI button. It knows which page you are on and has a summary of your account: contacts and 30-day growth, main lists, custom fields, active automations, revenue credited to email, and your last eight campaigns with delivered, open, click, unsubscribe and revenue figures.

Ask “Why did Tuesday’s campaign get fewer clicks?”, “Plan four emails for Diwali week” or “Is a 0.2% complaint rate a problem?”. Answers are short, and campaign ideas come with a subject line, preview text and outline. Copilot can’t send, delete or change settings; it tells you where in the app to do it.

  • Campaign plans around Indian festivals and seasons
  • Deliverability questions answered in plain words
  • Start a new conversation with one click
Insights

Your last 30 days, summarised

On the Analytics page, one click produces a short written summary: a headline, up to three observations grounded in your actual numbers, and three specific next steps, each with a short reason.

It helps when you need to tell a founder or client what happened without building a slide. Because it only uses the figures it is given, a quiet month reads as a quiet month.

  • Uses your campaign, contact and revenue figures
  • Three actions you can act on this week
  • Thumbs up or down on every answer

Who uses it

AI assistant for every kind of business

Home businesses

A home baker in Indore with no marketing help can draft a Raksha Bandhan hamper email from a two-line brief, fix the grammar and pick a subject line in a few minutes.

Agencies

An agency can run the AI review on every client campaign before asking for approval, so the client sees fewer typos, vague buttons and broken links.

Event organisers

A festival team can ask Copilot for an announcement, early-bird reminder and last-call sequence, then describe “bought last year but not this year” to get the segment.

B2B companies

A Chennai manufacturer can turn a dense product update into friendlier copy, then segment “contacts tagged distributor who opened either of the last two updates”.

Founders

A founder who looks at numbers once a month can use the Analytics summary to see what changed and what to try next, without reading every report.

Small teams writing in a second language

Teams for whom English is a second language can use “fix spelling & grammar”, which changes nothing else, to send polished emails in their own voice.

Compared with other tools

How MailNesto does it differently

See every comparison

AI in email tools is often a general writing box added to the editor. It doesn’t know your lists or past results, and it may invent details or turn {{first_name}} into plain text. Segment helpers can return rules you can only check after the email has gone.

MailNesto’s assistant is tied to specific jobs. Rewrites are told to keep facts, links and merge tags; segments are validated against your real fields and counted before you see them; Copilot answers from your own account summary and is told not to make up figures. Every output is a suggestion, so the person sending stays in charge of what goes out.

Best practices

Tips for better results

  1. 1

Give the AI the facts — dates, prices in ₹, venue, deadline. It is told not to invent them, so a vague brief gives a vague draft.

  2. 2

Ask for subject lines after the email is written; they are based on its content.

  3. 3

Choose the urgent tone only when something really ends. False urgency raises spam complaints.

  4. 4

Read the segment explanation before saving — it is the fastest way to spot an “and” that should have been an “or”.

  5. 5

Run the AI review last, after images and links are in, so it sees the finished email.

  6. 6

Use thumbs down with a short comment, such as “made up a price”, when an answer is wrong.

  7. 7

Keep your own voice: use “fix spelling & grammar” on copy you like, and full rewrites only on drafts you are unhappy with.

FAQ

Questions about ai assistant

Is my data used to train AI models?

Your content is sent only to generate the answer you asked for and isn’t used to train models.

Can I turn AI off?

Yes — platform administrators can switch it off, and plans control who can use it.

Can the AI send emails or change my account?

No. It writes suggestions and answers questions. Copilot can’t send, delete or change settings; if you ask it to, it explains where to do that in the app.

Which language does it write in?

English. Subscriber-facing pages such as unsubscribe and preference pages are separate and can be shown in Indian languages.

Is there a limit on AI use?

Yes. Each workspace has a daily number of AI requests that resets within 24 hours, and plans decide whether the assistant is included. See pricing for what each plan offers.

Does Copilot see my contacts’ personal details?

No. Copilot gets an account summary — totals, list names and sizes, custom field names, automation counts, revenue totals and recent campaign results — not individual names or addresses. The segment builder receives your list, field, tag and campaign names so it can write rules.

Will AI-written subject lines hurt deliverability?

They are told to follow anti-spam practice: no capitals, no fake “Re:” or “Fwd:”, no misleading urgency and one emoji at most. Run the spam check as usual; it applies the same rules to any subject, whoever wrote it.

How reliable is the pre-send review?

It is a careful second reader, not a guarantee. It can miss things and occasionally flag something that is fine. Use it alongside the spam check, a test email to yourself and a look on your phone.

Can I plan a month of campaigns with it?

Yes. Ask Copilot for a plan around your dates — a sale, a festival, a launch — and it suggests emails with timing, audiences, subject lines and outlines. You then create the campaigns yourself, so dates and offers stay under your control.
