Sending integration

Connect Postmark to MailNesto

Fast, reliable delivery for transactional and marketing streams.

Overview

Postmark and MailNesto, together

Postmark is known for fast delivery of the emails people are waiting for: OTPs, receipts, password resets. Connect it as a delivery server in MailNesto with a server API token and your transactional email, campaigns and automations can go out through it.

Postmark keeps transactional and bulk mail in separate message streams, and MailNesto’s own setup note recommends a Broadcast stream for marketing email. Its webhooks report bounces and spam complaints back so addresses are suppressed automatically.

From MailNestoOutgoing email

Spam complaint records mark the contact as complained and add them to your suppression list.

Set it up

Connect Postmark in a few minutes

  1. 1

Ideas

What you can do with it

Keep OTPs off your marketing server

Limit the Postmark server to a From domain such as account.yourbrand.com used by your transactional API calls, while campaigns from yourbrand.com go through another server.

Receipts with a full log

Send order receipts through the transactional API. The message log in MailNesto shows each message’s status, opens, clicks and exact content, and Postmark bounces mark it as bounced.

A fast backup for urgent mail

Keep Postmark as a second server at priority 2 so time-sensitive mail still goes out if your main server fails.

FAQ

Questions about the Postmark integration

Can I use Postmark for marketing campaigns?

Postmark expects bulk mail on a Broadcast stream. Follow Postmark’s rules for that stream, and use the server’s From-domain limit or per-campaign server choice to control which mail goes through it.

Does transactional email keep flowing if marketing is paused?

Yes. Transactional mail is sent on its own stream in MailNesto and keeps going when marketing sending is paused.

What happens to soft bounces?

They are recorded but don’t suppress the address straight away. Three soft bounces in 30 days mark it as bounced.

Why does the test fail?

Most often the token belongs to a different server, or it was pasted in only one field. Paste the same server API token in both.

Can I send a test email through Postmark only?

Yes. “Test connection” on the server checks the login and, if you enter an address, sends a test email through that server alone, so you can see it arrive before any real mail goes out.
