Forms integration

Connect Typeform to MailNesto

Add people who complete a typeform, with their answers as contact fields.

Overview

Typeform and MailNesto, together

Typeform is often where people tell you the most about themselves: a quiz, an application, a feedback form. With this connection, everyone who completes a typeform with an email address is added to MailNesto, and each answer is saved on their contact as a field you can segment and personalise with.

Responses arrive through Typeform’s own webhook, and you can add a secret so MailNesto checks Typeform’s signature on every delivery.

What syncs

What moves between Typeform and MailNesto

Into MailNestoRespondents

The email from an email question, or from a hidden field called email. First and last names come from questions whose reference contains “first” or “last”.

Into MailNestoAnswers

Saved as contact fields named after each question’s reference: choice labels, several choices joined by commas, yes/no as true or false, numbers, dates and text.

Into MailNestoHidden fields

Values you pass into the typeform link, such as a source or a city, are saved as fields too.

Set it up

Connect Typeform in a few minutes

  1. 1

    Connect in MailNesto

Go to Integrations → Connect an app → Typeform. Pick a list and tags, optionally type a webhook secret, and click Connect. Copy the private URL.

  2. 2

    Add the webhook in Typeform

In your typeform open Connect → Webhooks → Add a webhook, paste the URL and switch it on. If you typed a secret in MailNesto, set the same secret in Typeform.

  3. 3

    Check the question references

Each answer is stored under its question’s reference, so look at the references of the questions you care about and use those names in segments and merge tags.

  4. 4

    Submit a test response

Fill in the form once. The Activity tab shows a line like “Response to “Skin quiz”: created · priya@example.com”.

Ideas

What you can do with it

Quiz results into tailored advice

A skincare brand in Mumbai running a “find your routine” quiz can split its welcome automation on the skin-type answer and send each person the routine and products that suit them.

Applications into a review pipeline

For a fellowship or hiring form, tag applicants and use a “Create task” step so someone reviews each application within two days.

Feedback that changes what you send

Ask which topics readers want. Conditional blocks in your newsletter can then show the recipes section only to people who picked cooking.

FAQ

Questions about the Typeform integration

Will everyone who fills in the form be emailed?

Everyone who completes it with an email address is added as a subscriber, so make it clear on the typeform that they are signing up for email. For forms that aren’t about email, don’t connect them.

Is the signature check required?

It’s optional but recommended. With a secret set, deliveries without a valid Typeform signature are rejected and logged.

Can I connect more than one typeform?

Yes. Point several typeforms at the same URL, or create a separate connection for each so they go to different lists and tags.

What if the respondent is already a contact?

Their fields are updated with the new answers. If they had unsubscribed, they stay unsubscribed.
