Connect Facebook Lead Ads to MailNesto
Leads from Facebook and Instagram lead forms arrive within seconds and can start a welcome journey.
Facebook Lead Ads and MailNesto, together
Lead forms on Facebook and Instagram are quick for people to fill in, but the leads sit inside Meta until someone downloads them. With this connection, Meta tells MailNesto about each new lead as it comes in, MailNesto fetches the answers with your Page’s access token, and the person is added within seconds.
Every lead is tagged “facebook-lead” and keeps the ad and campaign it came from, so you can greet them while they still remember filling in the form and see later which ads brought in the people who actually buy.
What moves between Facebook Lead Ads and MailNesto
Email, full name (split into first and last), phone number as a phone field, and every other form question as a contact field named after the question.
Saved as fb_ad_name and fb_campaign_name on the contact, ready for segments and conditional content.
Each lead gets the tag facebook-lead, plus any tags you set on the connection.
Connect Facebook Lead Ads in a few minutes
- 1
Connect in MailNesto
Go to Integrations → Connect an app → Facebook Lead Ads. Choose a list and tags, paste a long-lived Page access token with the leads_retrieval permission, and click Connect. The drawer shows a callback URL and a verify token.
- 2
Subscribe your Meta app
In Meta for Developers open your app → Webhooks → Page, and subscribe to the leadgen field with the callback URL and verify token from MailNesto. The Activity tab shows “Meta verified the callback URL” when it works.
- 3
Give the app access to leads
In your Page settings, under Leads access, allow the app to receive leads. Without this step Meta won’t send them.
- 4
Test with a sample lead
Use Meta’s Lead Ads Testing Tool to submit a test lead. It appears in the Activity tab, for example “Lead 1234…: created · priya@example.com”.
- 5
Think about consent
Lead forms don’t always ask about marketing email. If you plan to send campaigns to these leads, add a consent question to the form, as the setup steps in MailNesto describe.
What you can do with it
Start a Welcome series on the facebook-lead tag. A real-estate developer in Hyderabad might send the brochure at once, floor plans two days later and an invitation to a site visit at the weekend.
Use a split step on fb_campaign_name so people from your “2BHK Gachibowli” ad and your “Villa plots” ad each get the details they asked about.
Combine lead scoring with the Turn hot leads into deals recipe. When a lead opens and clicks enough to reach 50 points, a deal and a call task are created for your team.
Build a segment of people with an fb_ad_name who have also ordered or reached a deal stage, and compare it with leads who never engaged.
Questions about the Facebook Lead Ads integration
Do leads from Instagram lead forms come through too?
Yes. Instagram lead ads use the same Page and leadgen webhook, so they arrive the same way.
Why does it need a Page access token?
Meta’s webhook only says that a lead exists. MailNesto uses the token to fetch the answers. It is stored encrypted and used for nothing else.
What if the token expires?
Leads start failing with Meta’s error message in the Activity tab, and the connection shows a warning. Paste a new token in the Setup tab.
Are phone numbers used for anything?
They are saved on the contact for your team and for any CRM you sync to. MailNesto itself sends email only.
