How to move from Netcore Email (Netcore Cloud) to MailNesto

Export your contacts and designs from Netcore Email (Netcore Cloud), bring them into MailNesto and send your first campaign — usually within a day.

Overview

Moving from Netcore Email (Netcore Cloud) to MailNesto

Netcore Cloud covers email alongside app push and other channels, and its email API was previously known as Pepipost. Businesses that move their marketing email to MailNesto usually want a tool the marketing team can run day to day: a block builder, recipes with the emails already written, store-aware segments and reports in ₹. Netcore’s SMTP relay can stay as the delivery engine, because it’s one of the providers MailNesto connects to out of the box.

Lists can be downloaded from the panel, and Netcore’s Export API returns list or segment members with their attributes. The blocklist is less straightforward: Netcore’s documentation says its UI export has been removed and to ask your account manager. Journeys, AMP content and Netcore’s AI features stay behind.

Step by step

Five steps to switch

  1. 1

Export from Netcore Email (Netcore Cloud)

unknown — no contact CSV export path found in public Netcore CE docs; ask your account manager. Reports can be exported to Amazon S3 (Settings > Integration > Cloud Storage Platform > Amazon S3).

  2. 2

    Import into MailNesto

Contacts → Import: upload the CSV or Excel file (or paste it), map the columns, choose a list. Import only subscribed people, then paste unsubscribed, bounced and complained addresses into Audience → Suppression list so they never get email again.

  3. 3

    Bring your designs

Templates can be built as HTML; no documented bulk export. Copy HTML per template. Then import the .html or .zip in Templates, or start from one of ours.

  4. 4

    Authenticate your domain

Add the SPF, DKIM and DMARC records MailNesto shows you, then send a test. New senders ramp up gradually to protect your reputation.

  5. 5

    Rebuild automations

Start from a recipe (welcome, birthday, win-back, abandoned cart) or build your own journey with branches and goals. Note: Email API suppressions are retrievable via GET /v6/suppression/emails and /v6/suppression/domains (paginated, no file export). AMP content and Raman features do not carry over.

A short checklist

Keep Netcore Email (Netcore Cloud) running until your first campaigns from MailNesto look right.

  • Export unsubscribed, bounced and complained contacts too — they must stay suppressed
  • Note when and how people subscribed (consent) and keep it in a field
  • Download reports you want to keep; engagement history doesn’t move between tools
  • Replace merge tags — MailNesto uses {{first_name}} with optional fallbacks {{first_name|there}}
  • Update signup forms on your website to MailNesto’s forms or the WordPress plugin
  • Send to your most engaged people first while the new sender warms up

Exporting everything from Netcore Email (Netcore Cloud)

Menu names change from time to time — the steps below follow Netcore Email (Netcore Cloud)’s own help pages, linked at the bottom.

  1. 1

Download each list. Go to Audience → Lists, click the three-dot icon next to a list and choose Download.

  2. 2

Download all contacts. The All Contacts page offers Download Contacts for the filtered or entire contact list. Include the attributes you personalise or segment on.

  3. 3

Use the Export API for big audiences. A developer can POST to the Export API with a list or segment ID and up to 100 attribute names; Netcore calls back with the CSV location when it’s ready. Setting blocklist_type to email leaves opted-out users out, which gives you a clean subscribed file.

  4. 4

Get the email blocklist. Audience → Blocklist contacts shows who is blocked on each channel, with the category, reason and date. Netcore’s guide says blocklist data can no longer be exported from the UI, so ask your account manager for the email blocklist (unsubscribes and hard bounces).

  5. 5

Pull Email API suppressions. If you also send through Netcore’s Email API, its suppression API returns suppressed emails and domains page by page (GET /v6/suppression/emails and /v6/suppression/domains).

  6. 6

Copy template HTML. There’s no documented bulk template export; copy the HTML of each template you still use.

  • Recommendation emails → Goes well with… after an order and Browse abandonment after product views, both filled from your store’s products.
  • Re-engagement journey → Win back inactive, then Sunset unengaged subscribers for people who still don’t open.
  • Festive campaigns → Festival countdown (announcement, a reminder seven days later, then a last call) and Sale reminders for the sale itself.
Watch out for

Common mistakes when leaving Netcore Email (Netcore Cloud)

  • Netcore identifies contacts by customer ID or email. MailNesto contacts are keyed by email, so profiles with only a customer ID or phone number are skipped on import. Keep the customer ID as a custom field to match records later.
  • Square-bracket attributes such as [NAME] print as plain text in MailNesto. Search each template for “[” and replace the attributes before importing.
  • Netcore blocklists cover several channels. Only the email column matters here; someone blocked on another channel can still be a subscribed email contact.
  • If Netcore stays as your delivery server, its bounce events need translating: a small step in Make, n8n or your own code can turn them into the simple JSON that the “Other providers” URL on the Sending page accepts.
  • Very large exports may need splitting to fit the file size limit shown on the import screen. Split by list rather than at random, so each file goes into one list.
FAQ

Questions about moving from Netcore Email (Netcore Cloud)

Can I keep Netcore for transactional email?

Yes. Your app can keep calling Netcore directly, or you can move it to MailNesto’s transactional API and still deliver through Netcore as a connected server.

Do AMP emails carry over?

No. MailNesto sends standard HTML email, so replace AMP widgets with a button to a survey, form or landing page.

Is there send-time optimisation?

Yes. Each contact gets the email at their usual opening hour, worked out from their opens in MailNesto.

Where is the suppression list in MailNesto?

Under Audience → Suppression list. Addresses and whole domains there are checked on every send, whatever list or segment they’re in.
