Connect Slack to MailNesto

Campaign results, approvals, orders and alerts posted to a channel.

Overview

Slack and MailNesto, together

Some things your team should hear about straight away: a campaign that finished or failed, a campaign waiting for approval, a new order that came from an email, a sending server that stopped working. The Slack connection posts these to a channel you pick, each with a link back to the right page in MailNesto.

It uses a Slack incoming webhook, so it can only post to the one channel you chose when creating it. You choose exactly which events are posted, and a test button confirms the setup in seconds.

Set it up

Connect Slack in a few minutes

  1. 1

    Create the Slack webhook

In Slack create an app, turn on Incoming Webhooks, click “Add New Webhook to Workspace” and pick the channel. Copy the URL that starts with https://hooks.slack.com/services/.

  2. 2

    Connect in MailNesto

Go to Integrations → Connect an app → Slack and paste the webhook URL. Campaign finished, campaign failed, approval needed, new attributed order and deliverability alert are ticked by default; add or remove events as you like.

  3. 3

    Send a test message

In the connection’s Setup tab click “Send test message”. If Slack refuses it, the Activity tab shows Slack’s answer.

Ideas

What you can do with it

Approvals without chasing

Agencies and larger teams can post “Campaign needs approval” to a #campaign-approvals channel, so the approver sees it and opens the campaign from the link.

Celebrate sales from email

A #sales channel that shows “New order #2041 · ₹3,200 · From “Pongal sale”” keeps the whole team aware of what the newsletter earns.

Catch sending problems early

Send deliverability alerts and server failures to the channel your technical person watches, so a rising bounce rate or a broken server gets attention the same day.

FAQ

Questions about the Slack integration

Can I post to more than one channel?

Yes. Create one connection per channel, each with its own webhook URL and its own choice of events.

Are all orders posted?

Only new orders credited to a campaign, so the channel shows what email brought in rather than every sale.

What does a message look like?

A bold title, a short line of detail, and an “Open in MailNesto” link to the campaign, report or page concerned.

What if Slack is down?

Nothing in MailNesto waits for Slack. A failed post is logged in the Activity tab and your campaigns carry on.

Who can set it up?

Owners and admins connect apps. The webhook URL is stored encrypted, and anyone on the team can read the messages in the channel without a MailNesto login, so pick the channel with that in mind.
