Connect Meta custom audiences to MailNesto
Keep a Facebook and Instagram audience in sync with a list or segment.
Meta custom audiences and MailNesto, together
Your email list is also a useful advertising audience: show a launch to people who already like you, or stop paying to reach customers who bought last week. This connection keeps a Meta custom audience in step with a list or segment in MailNesto, refreshed every day.
Only SHA-256 hashes of normalised email addresses leave MailNesto, never the addresses themselves, and only subscribed contacts who aren’t suppressed are included. Each sync sends just the difference since the last one: new people added, unsubscribes and people who left the segment removed.
What moves between Meta custom audiences and MailNesto
Hashed emails of the subscribed, unsuppressed contacts in the list or segment you pick. MailNesto creates the custom audience in your ad account on the first sync.
People who unsubscribe, are suppressed or no longer match the segment are removed from the audience on the next sync.
A CSV with one SHA-256 hash per subscribed contact, for platforms that accept hashed emails but don’t have a direct sync.
Connect Meta custom audiences in a few minutes
- 1
Prepare Meta access
In Meta Business Settings → Users → System users, add a system user with access to the ad account and generate a never-expiring token with the ads_management permission. Accept the Custom Audience terms once in Ads Manager.
- 2
Connect the ad account
In MailNesto open Integrations → Ad audiences, add a Meta ad account with its ID (act_…) and the system-user token. MailNesto checks the credentials with a harmless read before saving.
- 3
Create a synced audience
Click to add an audience, name it as you want it to appear in Ads Manager, pick a list or a segment, and leave “Keep it in sync every day” on. The first sync runs straight away.
- 4
Use it in your ads
The audience appears in Ads Manager under Audiences. Use it to target, exclude or build lookalikes as you would any custom audience.
What you can do with it
Sync a segment of people who ordered in the last 30 days and exclude it from your acquisition ads, so a festive campaign isn’t spent on people who just bought.
A segment of subscribers who clicked in the last 30 days but haven’t ordered is a warm audience for a product carousel on Instagram.
Sync a VIP segment of customers who spent over ₹10,000 and build a lookalike audience from it in Ads Manager.
Questions about the Meta custom audiences integration
Can people who unsubscribed still see my ads?
They are removed from the synced audience at the next daily sync, and they’re never added in the first place if they weren’t subscribed.
Who can connect ad accounts?
Owners and admins. The token is stored encrypted.
What happens if I stop syncing?
The audience stays in your ad account as it was. Delete it in Ads Manager if you no longer need it.
Can I sync more than once a day?
Use “Sync now” on the audience whenever you want an immediate update; automatic syncs run daily.
